Minutes of the June 2005 Meeting 19.00 Wednesday 08-06-05 Blackfriars Settlement 1-5 Rushworth Street London SE1 0RB Attendees: Barry Mason (Co-ordinator), Adam Madison, Ten, Sue Richards, Gary Jones, Colin Hartridge-Price, Cheryl, Andrew Rodgers. Apologies: Rebecca Lack, Alastair Hanton, Eleanor Purser, Kit Reynolds. 1. Introductions and minutes of the May meeting. Introductions were made and the minutes of the May meeting were approved. 2. T-shirts The T-shirts have been produced and will appear tonight at the pub after the meeting. 3. Current Projects Cycle Saturation: The programme is ongoing and plans are being made for the future including looking for sources of new funding and grants. Burgess Park Bike Track: New landscaping is under way and an event is set to take place on 12-06. Sue Richards will attend to take pictures for the press. Transport for London funding bids: Two of the bids have been approved and there is the possibility of another £10,000 being made available. We are working with the Primary Care Trust to discuss possible projects. 4. Planning and Campaigns Group. No meeting took place although we are still looking at the ongoing developments at Canada Water. 5. Bike Week No feedback has been received on the training sessions but it would appear possible that there has been no bookings for these. The stall outside Evans Cycles on London Bridge will take place on Thursday before the afterworker this week and then every weekday evening next week. A brief review of the Bike Week programme took place. 6. New Constitution Southwark Cyclists are set to be the first LCC group to adopt a new constitution which incorporates a child protection policy. Please pay attention to the discussions taking place on the e-list and feel free to raise your own points and make any comments you feel important. 7. Newsletter Please make submissions to Sue Richards. 8. Finances Hugh Bolton presented the financial statement. We are in a good financial position. 9. London Borough of Southwark. Southwark's cycling officer was not present. The draft Cycling Plan has been published, signed off and will now be sent out to all local stakeholders for consultation. 10. Rides All of the Bike Week rides are taking place. 11. Any Other Business Herne Hill Velodrome This is to be re-opened and will be run by an independent sports company. Greenwich Cyclists Celidh is now being organised. Please see the Greenwich Cyclists site for details and keep your eyes open for an announcement later in the year when the tickets go on sale.
