Notes of Annual General Meeting meeting held on Wednesday 14 April 2004

Other AGM business:
Treasurers report: healthy year, ending with £250 unrestricted funds in hand; full report available from BARRY/HUGH
Coordinators report: 2003-04 has been a year of restructuring and consolidation (management speak, Barry?!); some brilliant projects, especially Rockingham and Burgess Pk; also good, consistent rides programme; but disappointing amount of local work and fewer new faces Gearing up for 2005
Dates of future AGMs: Will now be held in Octobers to give the committee good time to plan and run Bike Week and Summer campaigns etc; the next AGM will be Oct 2004 (ie this cttee is serving a special 6-month term)

PLANNING:
Walworth Rd - £1m improvement scheme progressing well; includes solid proposal for a continuous cycle route
Burgess Park bike track on course for Mayoral opening during Bike Week, Sat 12 June
Herne Hill velodrome fantastic fundraising day Good Friday
Canada Water bike park TfL are delaying; SC will keep up pressure
BIKE WEEK 2004

Sat 12 June: Burgess Park Bike Track opening with the mayor music, flags, rides etc
Wed 16 June: Tate Modern Bike Breakfast, with cycling MPs, from 8am
Mon 21 June: 4th annual Midsummer Madness ride, 2.30am, Southwark Needle
And afterworker rides nearly every night

COMPULSORY CYCLE HELMETS FOR CHILDREN MPS VOTE 23 APRIL
Meeting unanimously voted against supporting a Private Members Bill which aims to make cycle helmets compulsory for all under-16s; letter will be sent on our behalf. If you want to send a personal letter to your MP visit www.ctc.org.uk for info.
