Southwark is served by 'designated' cycle routes which go to all the major bridges across the Thames. In fact, no household in Southwark is more than 1.1 km from a cycle route and most are far less. More details are available in these maps :-

 London Cycle Network and Minor Roads Cycle Route Planner There is also a second planner for direct routes. The interface is a bit quirky, so read the instructions carefully, you enter an address or postcode, click, and then select from the drop downs before clicking again to look up the route. You can zoom in if you don't see the route on a map at first.
