Cycle Saturation Campaign

Southwark has eight community
councils, Dulwich will receive £316,000, Peckham £216,000
and Rotherhithe £296,000. Southwark cyclists have successfully
campaigned for £20k of the Rotherhithe fund to be spent by Southwark
Cyclists on a saturation bike project at a local school. If you'd like to get involved, or are a parent interested in the project please read on. We plan to keep these pages updated with the latest news, and resources. The project team is Ashu Chowdhry (Chair), Barry Mason, Jacqueline Saunders, Che Sutherland, Guy Bardoe and Ann Warren. Saturation Cycle Project News:April 2005 - Project launchedTraining sessions where run with the children, for photos click here.
April 2005 - Project launch date set 13th April3.30pm - 5pm. CTUK will provide instructors to run games and Dr Bike. Southwark Cyclists are arranging publicity, special guests and information packs.
April 2005 - Bicycle Shed - any ideas for funding?While the core of the project is well funded and being run smoothly bu CTUK, we do need help in ensuring that the children have a bicycle shed to match the quality of the training that they will receive. Ideally, we would like to install a state of the art shed like the wonderful cages at Barnes Wetlands Centre, which cost about £5,000. Any suggestions for sources of funding for this would be very welcome.

January 19th 2005 - St Johns Roman Catholic Primary School selected!The project team held their first meeting and selected St Johns Roman Catholic Primary School, St Elmos Road for the project. Minutes from the project meeting can be found here
December 2004 - Project kick offA project team was elected at the December meeting of Southwark Cyclists, and a letter and questionnaire sent out to all 9 Rotherhithe Primary Schools inviting them to apply to be selected for the project.
